Mythos High Performance Loudspeakers
Welcome to Mythos, a completely new
concept in elegant high performance
loudspeakers: flexible, mix-and-match systems of loudspeakers
designed with you and your new high definition flat screen
television in mind.
Whether you choose a television that mounts on the wall, or a
table top television, the Mythos Series offers a cutting edge
loudspeaker in a matching size and design. Mythos is the perfect
way to add elegant, unobtrusive high end audio to your television
style. (Or, build a two-channel high performance music system
using a pair of Mythos Loudspeakers matched to a
SuperCube Subwoofer.)
Mythos ST SuperTowers (NEW)
The Mythos ST SuperTowers,
which has already been awarded the coveted 2007 CES
Innovations Award for Design and Engineering Excellence,
begins with a sleek and sexy polished black or silver aluminum
monocoque cabinet mounted on a beautiful polished granite base. It
contains extremely advanced Definitive components and technologies
that have been engineered to deliver sonic performance truly in a
class by itself. The Mythos’ trend setting concept of form and
function has dramatically evolved and goes considerably further in
the ST through the incorporation of high power built-in SuperCube
subwoofers right into the sleek aluminum cabinets.
Each Mythos ST contains a
D’Appolito array consisting of two high-definition Definitive
Balanced Dual Surround System (BDSS) 5 1/4" drivers (patent
pending) surrounding a new generation Definitive pure aluminum
dome tweeter, which incorporates a new voice coil, new dome, new
surround and new special acoustically contoured faceplate.
The subwoofer is built around a newly designed Definitive
racetrack-shaped carbon fiber coned driver, which has a Finite
Element Magnetic Analysis optimized magnet structure. This
long-excursion, very fast active driver is pressure-coupled to two
racetrack-shaped planar medite infrasonic radiators. This amazing
subwoofer driver array is powered by a built-in 300-watt digital
amplifier. Low frequency performance is exceptional and is
basically similar to Definitive’s award-winning SuperCube I.
Mythos Floorstanding Tower Loudspeakers
The Mythos Series begins with
three tall, sleek floorstanding loudspeakers that have literally
redefined the concept of floorstanding loudspeaker from big dark
box to thin and sexy silver showoff, the perfect floorstanding
complement to your wall mounted or table mounted flat screen
television.
These tower loudspeakers combine the elegant look of curved,
hand-polished aircraft-grade Aluminum with state-of-the-art
engineering technology that delivers the classic level of
Definitive Technology sound quality: wide, dynamic soundstage,
pinpoint imaging, and superb realism. Packed into these thin
towers are proprietary damping technologies that ensure total
rigidity, D'Appolito Driver Arrays in narrow PolyStone baffles
(voice-matched with whole Mythos line for easy mix-and-match
system building), Definitive's exclusive Planar Technology
Pressure Driven Bass Radiators to enhance low frequency response,
and newly designed Linkwitz-Riley Crossover Networks to more
perfectly blend the drivers into a sonically seamless audio
environment. Mythos Floorstanding Tower Loudspeakers rise
dramatically from unbreakable Tempered Glass Bases that include
carpet spikes and rubber feet for stability on any type of
flooring.
Build a
home theater system using Mythos Towers as front main speakers and
other Mythos Speakers as surround elements. (Nothing's stopping
you from using four Mythos Floorstanding Tower Loudspeakers as
your front main and surround elements—combined with a matching
Mythos Center Channel Speaker and a

Mythos Table- and Wall-Mounting Loudspeakers
This is where the real
on-wall magic of Mythos takes place. Nothing complements your new
high definition flat screen television with more style,
versatility and sheer performance than the beautiful Mythos Series
Table- and Wall-Mounting models. Each one comes with
easy-to-install mounting hardware that allows them to hang
effortlessly on the wall astride your new television, as well as
an unbreakable Tempered Glass Base (same as the Mythos
Floorstanding Speakers) to give them stability and style when
placed next to a table-top television.
Their exclusive narrow baffle
design, incorporating Definitive's Planar Technology Pressure
Driven Bass Radiators to enhance low frequency response, delivers
dynamic wide dispersion sound. Mythos Table- and Wall-Mounting
models are engineered to be placed flush with the wall and close
to the sides of your television (very sonically-unforgiving
placements!) and still deliver realistic sound that is accurate
and utterly unexpected, with lifelike imaging and remarkable
clarity.
Build a home theater system

Mythos Center Channel Loudspeakers
Mythos Center Channel Loudspeakers
fulfill all the requirements of truly great center channel
speakers, plus they have the extra added bonus of Mythos style and
good looks.
A center channel loudspeaker is the
heavy-lifter of your multichannel home theater sound system. Over
50% of movie soundtrack information in a Dolby Digital 5.1
soundtrack mix is delivered by the center channel speaker, so it
has to be a real workhorse of a loudspeaker.
A great center channel speaker is
able to anchor the action to the screen with pinpoint imaging, and
the reproduction of a wide range of sounds from whispered dialogue
and detailed sound effects to fiery explosions and jet engine
effects. It must be voice-matched to the other loudspeakers in the
system, utilizing the same driver complement, so that front stage
effects are seamless and realistic — when a jet plane flies from
left to right across the front sound stage, the character of the
sound does not change as it flies from speaker to speaker.
Mythos Gem Compact Loudspeakers
The Mythos Gems are yet
another astonishing breakthrough for Definitive Technology and
today's state-of-the-art home
theater. The Gems make the distinctive Mythos look -- an
internally braced, hand-polished, aircraft
grade Aluminum enclosure -- available in superbly designed high
performance compact loudspeakers. Because they are voice-matched
with the complete Mythos Series, they're perfect for use as
compact, convenient surround speakers in a system made up of
larger Mythos main speakers, or as a complete Gem-only compact
high performance home theater system when combined with a Mythos
Seven Center Channel Speaker and a SuperCube or two! (Or, use
Mythos with any other loudspeaker system at all! Mythos Gem
Speakers are the most flexible Mythos ever!)
Mythos Gem Speakers feature
an easy-to-use keyhole slot bracket (and mounting screw) for
simple wall mounting that looks amazing next to your wall mounted
flat screen television. Or use the custom GemStand, with its
flowing lines and hidden wire guide, for a superbly coherent and
elegant modern look with the convenience of floorstanding
speakers. You can also use popular articulating wall mount
brackets (available separately).

SM350). The StudioMonitor's sonic performance is truly stunning,
producing huge razor-sharp, three-dimensional sonic images

rich, full bass. Because the StudioMonitors are true full-range
speakers (SM450: 24Hz — 30kHz, SM350: 26Hz — 30kHz) with extended
low-frequency characteristics, they deliver superb performance
both as stand-alone speakers as well as when combined with
